The Defender Badge was an award given by the Duelling Club to students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during the 1996–1997 school year, regardless of their house. To receive the badge, students had to win any duel without using any offensive spells.[1] One way students could do this was by using the Shield Charm to deflect their enemy's spells back at them. The badge was a Duelling Silver Badge.
