M. Delacour is a French wizard married to half-Veela witch Apolline Delacour, with whom he has two daughters, Fleur and Gabrielle. He is described as short and plump with a pointed black beard, and "nowhere near as attractive as his wife". However, he is very pleasant and helpful.

With his wife, he came to the Burrow in the summer of 1997 for Fleur's wedding to Bill Weasley, where they assisted with the preparations. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, he was seen listening to Kingsley's Patronus.

Through his oldest daughter Fleur and his son-in-law Bill, he is the maternal grandfather of Victoire, Dominique and Louis Weasley.
