Filius Flitwick, Head of Ravenclaw in Harry Potter's time at Hogwarts.
The Head of Ravenclaw is a Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry who has the duty of looking after and punishing the students of their House, Ravenclaw. The Head of House also serves as a Professor of a Subject, assumedly a more academic subject for a Head of Ravenclaw. Most, if not all, of the heads of Ravenclaw house attended Hogwarts and were in Ravenclaw during their tenure at the school, for example Filius Flitwick. It is unknown how a professor would be elected to the post, but it's likely that the headmaster chooses the professor who embodies all the qualities of Ravenclaw: intelligence, wisdom, and wit.
The first Head of Ravenclaw House was the famous co-founder of Hogwarts, Rowena Ravenclaw, and the only other known Head of House was Filius Flitwick. As no Ravenclaw students are known to have returned to Hogwarts to teach, it is unknown who the next Head of House will be.
