In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is an assisted reproductive technology. It involves taking an egg from a female, then fertilising it in a laboratory setting, and is generally used by infertile couples to have children.[1]
The Guardian reported in 1996 that doctors who practiced IVF had recommended against relying on frozen eggs.[2]
