The self-fertilising shrub is a plant that feeds on flesh.[1] Given its name, it has the ability of producing its own fertiliser.
In 1995, Pomona Sprout issued her fifth-year students an essay on these plants.[2] The textbook Flesh-Eating Trees of the World includes some "really good" pictures of these shrubs.[1]
